Hello out there is the web wide world.

Well last weekend me and Princess went to Liverpool and picked up the newest member of the family. Kenny the Kawasaki Versys, I had a lovely introductory ride in the wind and rain. Princess was in the car and whilst coming back was having an argument with the sat nav (Fred Fred).

We came back via Ikea Warrington and I finally bought myself a chair to go in the loft for when I’m on the XBOX. (Its only taken a year to get it, I was fed up of the numb bum).

Saturday also saw Christmas come early for Princess as we went to the Hein Gericke shop in Preston where she bought all her biking gear. On Sunday she got to wear it all for the first time as we went for a ride on Kenny up to Lake Windermere where we stopped for a walk around. There was a display of classic cars on the Glebe, and we enjoyed a coffee and cake at the old pump house café. We slowly made our way home leaving the lakes via the Lyth Valley.

I’ve also commuted to work on the bike these last two days and feel I’m starting to get a feel for the handling. Going to work is suddenly an experience.

Something else great about the bike is that it feels like I’ve joined a new exclusive club as each time I see a fellow rider we nod to each other, even on opposite sides of the motorway!

Anyway that’s enough for now, must go and play GTA4.

This weekends movie was Death Sentence and it was very good, 8 / 10.

See ya! MY

Things are growing!

Mother nature is doing her job and things are starting to sprut!

We now have red nasturtiums, rocket, radishes, salad leaves, sunflowers, mint, coriander, thyme, courgettes, pumpkins and tomatoes starting to grow. The peas, cornflowers and asparagus peas are trying to make a bid for freedom from the cold frame so seriously thinking about getting them planted up and investing in some fleece to keep them warm if the temperature drops.

Got a couple of gardening jobs done whilst off over the last few days whilst hubby has been off thinking he's an extra in Easy Rider. Two hanging baskets have been planted up, one with ornamental grasses and one with nasturtiums grown by my own fair hands. When we moved into our house, which unbelievably is now just over a year ago, there were two small grasses at the side of the path, however due to my very green fingers :-) they had got overgrown and made getting to the shed difficult, so it was decided it was time for them to go. They aren't being thrown away though they are being moved into the front garden. Another job done was the purchase of extra gravel to go round the pond, we thought three bags would be a good start, in reality we should have timesed that by three at least!! Oh well another trip to the landscape suppliers at the weekend.

I think I've bored you all enough for now, I'll tell you about the frogs tomorrow...

Bike Test and Stuff!

Hi all!

Well I started riding a 500cc motorbike at 10am on Monday morning, by 11.30am on Wednesday I had passed my DAS Bike practical test! I can now ride whatever I like without 'L' plates or supervision. I'm off now to get a Suzuki Hyabusa (only joking mum).

I'm glad to get the test past because in October the test rules change, I would have to travel about 50 odd miles to my nearest test centre (riding on A roads), and it'll take longer to apply for and cost more (another quality move by the government!)

In other news we have finally got our cavity wall insulation done. The first company that was supposed to do it are called Home Insulation Service of Kirkham, and service is the last thing they provide, avoid. I got another company called Dyson on the case and they were great! The guy's even cleared up their own mess and you can not tell where they drilled into the walls. And no they don't make vacuum's!

Find them here: http://www.dysoninsulations.co.uk/

POND UPDATE!!
Thanks to the new UV tube the water is much clearer, but I've stuck a couple of pads in the filter (1 medipac, 1 algaepac) and I think the fish are a bit spaced out on the chemicals cause they've stopped eating :( hopefully they should be chasing food round soon.

See ya!
